Description

Current Programs & Population Served Florence Crittenton Services provides services for over 200 mothers and 200 newborns each year. The 36 bed residential maternity program provides a comprehensive range of prevention and intervention services for at-risk, pregnant adolescents and women who need a safe and healthy environment during their pregnancy and through the delivery of their baby. The average stay is 4 to 6 months based on the age and risk of the client. Our programs consist of: Prenatal/medical Care, Educational Services, Counseling, Mentoring, Financial Assistance, Parenting Support Services, Adoption Support Services, Early Childhood Development Education, Family Planning, Academic Scholarships, Access to Vocational Training, Aftercare Services that focuses on early child development and family self-sufficiency. In September, 2002 we began offering 2 new programs. 1- A mother/infant wing that will house up to 3 mothers and up to 4 infants so young women in the foster care system that choose to parent can live with their babies in a supervised environment, learning to care for their child and themselves. 2- A foster care program that will house up to 4 non-pregnant adolescents. Focus will be on education, prevention and intervention of at-risk behaviors, vocational training, self-sufficiency and life-skills training.
