Mentors are a support and guide to youth transitiong to parole. Mentors commit to spending an average of 2 to 4 hours a week with their match for one year to establish a relationship and mentor youth while they transition back to their community. Training and case management is provided. Mentors must pass a criminal history and reference check. Preliminary research shows that mentors make a difference with this population.
