Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
An estimated 600,000 Americans and 12.5 million newborns, children and adults, worldwide, battle Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) every day. PKD is one of the most common, life threatening genetic diseases, affecting more people than down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and sickle cell anemia - combined.Dialysis and transplantation are the only treatment options for kidney failure. There is no cure for PKD. Until one is found, PKD will threaten the lives of every generation of every family living with the disease. PKD equally affects men, women and children - regardless of age, race or ethnic origin. It does not skip a generation.
PKD Foundation signature fundraiser is the Walk for PKD, there will be over 60 walks thruout America in the months of September and October. Our Walk this year will be at Lake Hefner Stars & Stripes Park on October 15th. Our goal - to have a successful fundraising campaign which will fund critical programs for PKD research, education, advocacy, support and awareness.
