Mission Statement

The Austin History Center Association's mission is to support the Austin History Center in its work to collect, preserve, and make available to the public materials that document the history of Austin and Travis County.

Description

The AHCA supports the AHC by purchasing items not funded by the City of Austin; by serving as its advocate; by presenting public programming on local history and preservation topics; by publishing materials from the AHC's collection through our publishing arm Waterloo Press; by presenting an annual history preservation award; by encouraging donations of materials to its collection; by making the community more aware of the importance of preserving local history and of the Austin History Center and its work; and many other activities.
