Mission Statement

"Empower incarcerated and released individuals to restore their relationship with their God, rebuild their lives and reconcile to their community."

Description

The HOPE Aftercare Program is an interfaith pre- and post-release adult mentoring program for inmates and ex-offenders that seeks to ensure the successful reintegration of former inmates back into the community. The HOPE Aftercare Program provides one-on-one guidance and group mentoring. We encourage our clients to reconnect with their families and other natural support systems to help them successfully reintegrate back into their communities. Once trained, mentors agree to maintain a professional mentoring relationship with their mentees by visiting them in jail at least twice a month and maintaining the match for at least one year after release from jail. On the outside, our Aftercare program is open to all ex-offenders and we believe strongly that everyone deserves a second chance.

Located on the North Side of Pittsburgh, our Aftercare program provides ex-offenders places to meet and access informational resources, referrals, and guidance regarding employment, housing programs, and other services. Additionally the office offers Aftercare Support Groups and Drug and Alcohol Support Groups held in the community and are open to all. Group mentoring meetings designed to help decision making related to drug and alcohol issues occur Continuing education workshops are held in a casual format and permit all to learn and share in an unintimidating environment.

Mentors are key components to successful socialization and reintegration through promoting po-social activities and healthy relationships.

Are you interested in transforming your community one life at a time? Please consider joining us by becoming a mentor.
