Mission Statement

The Philharmonic Society of Northern NJ sees as its mission one of providing concerts of great music to the residents of the local communities of Northern NJ at convenient locations and at reasonable cost. At the same time under the guidance of our new Musical Director, James Biddlecome, we are making education one of our primary goals. With the addition of pre-concert lectures, family concerts and children's concerts we wish to make a difference in the life of our local communities. It is our vision that we eventually extend our concert venues to the whole of northern New Jersey, from the Hudson River to the Delaware River. With the support of our audience, we shall accomplish the goal.

Description

Organized in 1947, the North Jersey Philharmonic (NJP), is the only fully professional orchestra in Bergen County, New Jersey, offering symphonic and operatic concerts of the highest cultural and educational value for the community, in response to the area's great demand for live performances of works. Given the primary objective, to foster a love of symphonic music in community youth, the NJP is a champion of music education. In addition to Education Programs it offers affordable concert tickets and performance times convenient for families in order to make classical music accessible to the wide and diverse community audience.
