Voices for Biodiversity [ https://voicesforbiodiversity.org], a nonprofit VOLUNTEER organization, is seeking a LinkedIn Social Media Creator and Manager. This is a virtual opportunity that can be completed from any English-speaking country, such as the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. You must have reliable internet access. This position requires a minimum of 20 hours per month for at least one year. Preference is given to those who can commit to two years. This VOLUNTEER Voices for Biodiversity (V4B) position offers an excellent opportunity for you to make a difference and help save biodiversity while expanding your resume and experience. V4B is building a diverse storytelling community to save biodiversity with a mission to use storytelling to share the voices of those who otherwise would not usually be heard. Our goal is to empower, diversify and create community for those speaking out to save biodiversity and stop the Sixth Extinction. We also desire to shift humankind from an anthropocentric (human-centric) perspective to an eco-centric perspective that envisions people being embedded in nature and the environment rather than dominating and ruling over nature, the environment and other species. Voices for Biodiversity (voicesforbiodiversity.org) is a nonprofit conservation media organization. Our team is entirely made up of volunteers. We were founded in 2009 and have won numerous awards. Voices for Biodiversity builds a diverse story-sharing community to save the world’s biodiversity. We use storytelling to help people from all walks of life share their perspectives and insights on their love of nature and other species. Our nonprofit media platform publishes people whose voices generally would not be heard, including people of color, women, youth, Indigenous people and more. Through this process our storytelling brings together people from around the globe and builds a grassroots community around biodiversity conservation. After we publish stories, our social media team shares our stories with the public. This VOLUNTEER Voices for Biodiversity (V4B) position offers an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the conservation world and to use your development experience in fundraising and branding for our award-winning charity. Qualifications: Be age 35+ unless the applicant can show an equivalent level of maturity and stability (including financial stability) Commit to work in this position for a minimum of 1 year with the goal of raising enough money to create a paid Development Manager position for yourself or be willing to continue working as a volunteer Commit to fundraising extensively from mid-October thru mid-December each year in order to reach out to public donors Skills Data software management Superb writing skills Acute attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills Ability to digest new information quickly and think critically about what information is needed to craft compelling cases for support Ability to operate independently Ability to think creatively about how to find new sources of support for Voices for Biodiversity by creating and implementing marketing campaigns in new ways to reach new donors Ability to analyze and synthesize data in a succinct format Excellent project management, follow-through, and time management skills Tasks Bring in and manage public donations Find and manage sponsors Direct social media campaigns (via our volunteer social media team) Write and manage grants Personal Characteristics Passion for environmental and biodiversity issues Enthusiasm and passion for Voices for Biodiversity’s mission Ability to thrive in an independent virtual work environment and to enjoy working with a volunteer team Independent and self-motivated with a desire to provide support to advance Voices for Biodiversity’s mission Commitment to the values of equity, authentic communication, and collaboration Hard worker who is extremely innovative and also organized You are a leader Sense of humor is a plus This is a virtual opportunity that can be completed anywhere in the UNITED STATES with reliable internet access.
