Mission Statement

The California Black Women's Health project is committed to advocating for policies and practices that promote and improve the physical, spirtual and emotional well-being of Black women and girls in California. We seek to empower womento become active participants in improving our health status.

Description

CABWHP began addressing notable health disparities of Black women with the launching of free fitness and aerobics classes at The Well in partnership with the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine & Sciences "Physical Activity Initiative". Currently, CABWHP is embarking on a journey that will conclude with the development of a health policy agenda that will drive the activities of our organization in the coming years. While this new agenda expands our scope of services and influence, CABWHP maintains a strong commitment to serving our local constituents via effective, culturally relevant, community-supported health education and programming.
