Mission Statement

Rise Above It All (RAIA) is conducting the 2002 monorail election campaign, asking voters on November 5th to approve "Phase One" of the Seattle Popular Monorail Plan, proposed by the Elevated Transportation Company (ETC), a part of a 58-mile, five-line monorail system that would eventually crisscross the city. Three monorail lines would run north/south and two would run east/west. Phase One, called the Green Line, is proposed to be the first monorail line built, a 14-mile route that would run north/south from Ballard and West Seattle to Downtown, Seattle Center, Pike Place Market, and the sports stadiums.

Description

Rise Above It All (RAIA) is a Seattle-based political action committee formed by the sponsors of I-53 "Re-Elect the Monorail!" (approved by voters in November 2000 by over 148,000 citizens representing 56% of voters). RAIA is staffed by a group of dedicated professionals and hundreds of volunteers committed to the effort to build a comprehensive city-wide monorail system that will literally shape the future of the City of Seattle.
