Mission Statement

Since our founding in 2005, our mission has been to save the lives of as many animals as possible and to reduce as much animal cruelty as we can.

We want a world where people, companies and legislators are making choices that help and not hurt animals, a world in which all animals are treated with the same respect and compassion that we show to our beloved family dog or cat. We invest our time, money and energy where they will do the most good for the greatest number of animals. As a result, our primary focus is on farmed animal issues. Farmed animals represent over 98% of the animals used and killed in the United States, and because they are excluded from state anti-cruelty laws they suffer intensely on today's "factory farms."

The Humane League is the best non-profit I've worked for. Everyone is extremely intelligent, diligent, and knowledgeable about animal welfare and rights. I've worked for other non-profits in the past, but I definitely felt like every minute of work I put into The Humane League was worth it. I would recommend THL to anyone passionate about animal welfare, rights, or the environment! Everyone is so willing to help you in any way, shape, or form and it truly feels like you are working towards a higher cause.

Volunteering for the Humane League has been so rewarding. They focus on really exciting work that has a big impact on reducing cruelty to animals. I've met so many wonderful and inspiring people through this volunteer work. They treat their volunteers really well and have a lot of different events and projects to work on.
