Mission Statement

Joan Kroc, wife of McDonald's founder Ray Kroc, had a clear vision in mind: build state-of-the-art recreational and arts facilities in communities throughout the nation to ensure that all individuals have equal opportunities to develop their natural talents. When Mrs. Kroc passed away in 2003, she entrusted to The Salvation Army the largest gift ever given to a private charity for the express purpose of building and endowing Kroc Centers. The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is Texas' ONLY Kroc Center.

Description

The 48,000 square-foot Kerrville Kroc Center redefines what a community center is all about. This unprecedented place of gathering and enrichment will house an array of education, sports, faith, arts and supportive programs never before assembled in Texas. At the Kerrville Kroc Center, children will play and learn. Parents can renew their bodies, minds and spirits, secure in the knowledge that their children are safe. Families and neighbors from all over the Hill Country will experience a stronger sense of community and join together as never before.

The Kerrville Kroc Center is a physical embodiment of Joan Kroc's vision and represents The Salvation Army's $31 million investment in our community. Anchoring a 16-acre campus off Holdsworth Drive, the center houses a center of worship and performance venue, an aquatics center, fitness and recreation center, teen lounge, coffee bar and special event facilities.
