Mission Statement

A community of Oakland residents helping to make Driver Park the centerpiece of a vibrant, healthy North Oakland neighborhood.

Description

This summer a great group of North Oakland residents are organizing to help clean up Driver Park, a thin sliver of green space near Adeline and MLK.

It's the kind of place that one often misses in the rush of life, a few trees, some grass and some benches. But together, we can make Driver Park the center of our community.

Our goals are:

  • Stay inclusive: Encourage all communities to use the park
  • Encourage use: Keep it clean, keep it safe
  • Continue to reach out to other community members: Bring in more people to involve them in the process and use

If you care about Oakland, and want to meet some great folks while making a difference, join us! Click the 'I want to help button' and we'll get back to you with information about how to join our Google Group and get connected to the activities.

Friends of Driver Park is a motivated group of volunteers who want to make this tired park more accessible and safe. Join the effort and meet your neighbors, clean up Oakland parks and create a safe, more vibrant community.
