(Help Ministry) Isaiah 58:7 Help Ministry is a caring ministry through which Christians reach out to the homeless. The basis of Isaiah Ministry is found in Isaiah 58:7. "I want you to share your food with the hungry and to welcome poor wanderers into your homes, give clothes to those who need them and do not hide from relatives who need your help". Isaiah Help Ministries collects used blankets and clothing and redistributes them directly to the homeless in the Chicago area. The homeless situation in Chicago is increasing at an alarming rate. Families with children are the fastest- growing segment of the homeless population. The people we minister to have no place to sleep and are often lucky to get even a single meal a day; For this reason, we pass out brown paper bag lunches . Each lunch contains a sandwich, a fruit drink, a bag of chips or crackers, a napkin, and a Christian tract. Our Help Ministers go directly into the streets of Chicago once a week and feed about 400 homeless people every month. We provide the homeless with referrals for shelter, food, clothing, addictions and other services. All volunteers are trained in ministering to the homeless. Our motto is feed one save one.
