Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Images, Incorporated, a faith-based entity, provides holistic services, empowering, restoring and restructuring participants through education, job training, mentoring, and counseling
Images of Hope, Inc. (IOH), a nonprofit corporation with 501(c)(3) status, which began in 1997, has four basic programs and three services areas. First, the Hope Academy and learning center, a daycare ministry as well as after school activity program, is a site where infants through age twelve receive age/developmentally appropriate learning enrichment and play activities. For those needing childcare services, the Day Care Ministry is open both to program participants and the local community.
The second area of focus is the Family Services Program where IOH has the capacity to provide services for both the individual client and family members. Services may include counseling, mentoring, parenting skills, wellness, nutrition, budgeting, stress management, and tobacco prevention/cessation. Educational activities are integrated with technology support to empower parents to more actively work with their children in school assignments and related educational activities. The third area, the Hope Mentoring Programseeks to enhance within the participants the ability to cope with life’s challenges by providing a courageous person who is willing to be a trusted supporting resource. The mentoring program provides face-to-face interaction while attempting to impact participants through the provision of positive role models.
The fourth area is Job Readiness/Job Placement, which provides hands-on training, basic skills as well as focus on development and enrichment of literacy skills. Our goal is to promote wholeness, completeness, and wellness as a part of preparation for the workplace. IOH provides educational activities and life skills that have job and cultural relevancy. The culmination of the training is job placement based on active job searches initiated by clients. Clients receive intensive training and are provided a structured format for reporting to IOH both electronically and on site job searches.
The synergistic approach ofHopeAcademy, theCounselingCenter, Mentoring Program and Job Readiness/Placement offers a viable solution through education, training, counseling, mentoring, and training for the workplace. Our proactive stance is that we begin age/developmentally training in both preschool programs and after school programs that prepare our children to be successful in school but we also address the needs of those who are now adults and need skills to be successful in the workplace so that they are removed from subsidy programs and placed on a job.
Undergirding all of our programs is a state-of-the art technology center equipped with twenty-five new Dell computers and a SmartBoard. For use in all of our classrooms is another portable SmartBoard allowing us to integrate technology in all learning and enrichment activities. For those needing drug-screening services, we offer confidential services that will provide results in a short time period at a very reasonable cost. Finally, for non-profit agencies that may need office space, we offer available space for programs that are aligned with our mission and purpose.
IOH seeks funding through grants/contracts from foundations, governmental agencies, corporate businesses, and personal donations. Our commitment is to serve; therefore, we will actively seek funding to accomplish our objectives.
