Description

Voted Best Place to Volunteer by the local Hometown News!

Westside Pacific Villages (WPV) is a volunteer-driven, non-profit, 501(c)(3) membership organization helping older adults with routine tasks to enhance their independence and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle. Services provided include transportation, friendly visits, social events, walking buddies, computer assistance, and help with light chores or gardening.

WPV is part of a nationwide movement of over 300 local Villages. The Villages are not physical locations, but organized networks of local volunteers, staff and community partners that help members stay engaged in their neighborhoods by providing a wide array of services and programs.

We provide services to residents of Westchester, Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, Culver City, Ladera Heights, El Segundo, Mar Vista, and adjacent communities.

Whether you are employed, retired, or a student, just 30 minutes a week can make a big difference in the life of a senior in your community

(WPV) Westchester Playa Village is a great place to volunteer. WPV volunteers help older people (55 or older) stay self-sufficient and in their homes by helping out with things that are difficult for them to do themselves. There are all kinds of ways that you can help depending on your skills and knowledge. I for one have been providing transportation to and from places that members need to or would like to go. I have found it extremely satisfying and have enjoyed meeting some wonderful people, members, volunteers and a great staff. Maybe like me this is just what you have been looking for. I highly recommend WPV if you are looking for some volunteer work that offers a great deal of flexibility as to when and what you do.
