Mission Statement
The Association is organized as a Missouri General Not-For-Profit corporation, to promote the Sport of Athletics and carry out the purposes of USA Track & Field (USATF) throughout its assigned territory, in accordance with the Bylaws and Operating Regulations established by USATF. The Association will do everything possible to protect and promote the mutual interests of its members.
Description
The USATF Missouri Valley Association is a Missouri not-for-profit Corporation and is a local affiliate of USA Track & Field (USATF). USATF is the National Governing Body (NGB) for the United States' Olympic Track & Field program. Annually, USTF, conducts the Junior Olympic Track & Field Program in 57 Associations nationally. This program culminates with the National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championship which, this year, will be held in Wichita, Kansas.
USATF Missouri Valley Association, an affiliate of USA Track & Field (USATF), the National Governing Body (NGB) for the United States' Olympic Track & Field program. Annually, USTF, conducts the Junior Olympic Track & Field Program in 57 Associations nationally. This program culminates with USATF Junior Olympic National Championship which, in 2011, will be held in Wichita, Kansas. There are a two track & field events during the summer track & field season that will be conducted by the Missouri Valley Association, one of which is a qualifying event for the 2011 Junior Olympic National Championship. The first, the 2011 Border Challenge Youth, Open & Masters Track & Field meet, will be held Sunday, June 12 th at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. The second is USATF Region 16 Junior Olympic Track & Field Championship. This will be a four (4) day event, beginning on July 7th and ending July 10th, in Lawrence, Kansas.
