Peninsula Agency on Aging Dining Club Program

Come out and have a blast volunteering at one of our six dining clubs located on the Peninsula! Volunteers are needed to help serve vendor prepared noontime meals to senior citizens in a group dining setting. Volunteers also needed to help with conducting group activities at the dining clubs, i.e. bingo, singing, quilting, etc. Dining clubs are located in the Cities of Newport News, Hampton, Poquoson, Williamsburg, and the counties of York and James City. Orientation and training are provided and volunteer hours are tracked for school and community credit. Individuals with special talents such as singing, painting, teaching exercise classes, and other crafts are encouraged to apply. Our dining clubs operate from 10 am to 2 pm. Volunteer and and make some wonderful new friends who have amazing stories to share.

Peninsula Agency on Aging MedTran Volunteer Transportation Program

Come join the PAA volunteer team! MedTran is a transportation program utilizing volunteer drivers to transport seniors to non-emergency medical appointments in the Cities of Newport News, Hampton, Poquoson, and in York County. Seniors requiring rides are matched with volunteers. Volunteer drivers for the program can decide how often and in what locations they would like to drive. Volunteers are provided everything that they may need to complete a ride, including complete driving directions. Volunteer hours are tracked for school or community service credit. The program operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Orientation and volunteer procedure handbooks are provided to each volunteer. Volunteers are invited to an annual appreciation luncheon each fall. This program allows for interaction on a more personal level which has been greatly appreciated by our seniors. Come out and volunteer and make some new friends in the process!

Peninsula Agency on Aging Meals on Wheels

Come join our outstanding volunteer team! Volunteers deliver noontime meals to homebound seniors in the Cities of Hampton, Newport News, and Poquoson. Delivery routes usually take approximately an hour to complete. Complete house to house directions are provided each day. Orientation and volunteer procedure handbooks are provided to all volunteers. Volunteer hours are tracked for school and community service credit. Individual or group volunteers are welcomed. Volunteers not only deliver a hot nutritious meal but also provide an invaluable friendly safety check on each of the seniors who receive meals. Our seniors just love our volunteers and look forward to their daily visit. Come on out and make some new friends!

Peninsula Agency on Aging Caring Neighbors Program Senior Safety Calls and Friendly Visits
