Mission Statement

The mission of the Spina Bifida Resource Network is to empower the lives of people with spina bifida through advocacy, education, public awareness, research and program, and to promote the prevention of spina bifida.

Description

The Spina Bifida Resource Network (SBRN) is the only organization in the Tri-State region that focuses solely on spina bifida. SBRN is the primary support group for area families living with spina bifida. SBRN also provides the community at large with information on Folic Acid consumption. If all women of childbearing age would consume 0.4 mg (400 mcg) of folic acid daily, the incidence of spina bifida could be reduced by up to 75 percent.
