Mission Statement
The Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse Historical Society's mission is: to restore, preserve, and promote the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse (1822), the keeper's house (1863), and the adjacent grounds. To operate the restored site as an historical and educational center which deals primarily with the Lighthouse and the Village of Charlotte. To promote the public use of, interest in, and appreciation for the lighthouse and the village.
Description
We are in need of people who would like to become a Docent at The Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse. There are 4 volunteer opportunities: 1. Give Tours of our Keeper's House. 2. Give Tours of the Lighthouse Tower(Includes climbing up the 42 steps + 11 step ladder) 3. Work in our Gift Shop(credit card & cash register experience helpful)4. Maintain gardens and grounds. Hours Docents needed are 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday from the first of May till the end of November 2011. Docents can come in as many days as they want. Gardeners times can be scheduled with the Chairperson of the Lighthouse Gardens
