Mission Statement
Copper's Dream Rescue is committed to ending the euthanasia of adoptable animals in California through dog rescue, training, public outreach, and education.
Description
Copper's Dream Rescue rescues dogs and puppies who are about to be euthanized at shelters and houses them until permanent homes can be found. Copper's Dream Rescue focuses most of its efforts on high kill shelters in rural areas, such as Bakersfield, where approximately 500 new dogs and puppies are taken in every week and about 50% are euthanized. Copper's Dream's most urgent need is for foster families who are willing to keep a rescue dog or puppy for between one to three weeks. In addition, Copper's Dream needs volunteers to assist with a variety of other functions, including marketing, website maintenance, public relations, and planning adoption events and fund-raisers.
