Mission Statement

The Department of Historic Resources works throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to identify, recognize, and promote an appreciation for and the preservation of Virginia's significant historic, archaeological, and cultural resources through a broad range of informational, educational, technical assistance, and financial incentive programs.

Description

Volunteer opportunities to help in the historic resources library, archaeological labs, and various preservation programs (including register, highway markers) -- that the opportunities range from helping process archaeological collections, conducting research, writing for exhibits and publications and providing support services.
