To identify and meet the basic necessities of orphans and vulnerable children, aspiration of the youth and people in such deprived communities through awareness creation, capacity building, volunteering and empowerment projects and programmes.Thereby extend the mission perimeter to the entire regions of the country.

Description

The Lost Talent Foundation-Ghana, is a not-for-profit and non-governmental organization with its headquarters in Assin Foso (Assin North Municipal) in the central region ofGhana and a branch office inAccra the regional capital of the country. It's committed to the aim of improving the lives of orphans and vulnerable children, youth in the rural communities. It also focuses on the promoting of good education, primary health care, social lives and sustainable development in rural communities for all inGhana which will raise their image and empower them both socially and economically. In response as an international concern.

The Lost Talent Foundation-Ghana, as an NGO seeks to achieve total development and holistic improvement and well being of the people in such deprived communities by providing long lasting change through capacity building, networking, good health, and good education to reduce the high rate of illiteracy, death and teenage pregnancy among the youth. Also help them to realize their full potential and contribute to sustainable development in their lives.

The Lost talent foundation-Ghana, works actively with both local and international organizations and volunteers in long and short term projects and programmes.LTF-GHANA is therefore calling volunteers from all over the world who believe in the spirit of volunteerism and willing to serve the cause of peace and sustainable development for mankind and to help LTF-GHANA, achieve its aim/mission.

We hope with the spirit of togetherness, we can make a step to change the lives of the needy ones.

AIMS/OBJECTIVES

l To promote quality universal education for all school going age.

l To support orphans and vulnerable children (OVC's).

l To provide a platform for the promotion of good health, water and sanitation in deprived communities.

l To combat against diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, guinea worm etc.

l To develop stronger relationship with both local and international community through volunteer and cultural exchanges.

WHAT WE DO:

l Teaching in rural communities and also providing other social services such as care and support fro orphans, people with disabilities and HIV/AIDS.

l We organize rural health care outreach and sensitization programmes as well as clean up exercises with both local and international health volunteer workers in the various communities.

l We undertake community and sustainable development with the assistance from our volunteers, donors and the community, such as farming projects, provision of library and books.

l We organize seminars, quizzes, debate sand talk shows on social issues among schools and communities.

l We form social clubs in the communities and schools; such as readers clubs, environmental clubs, girl's clubs and youth and women associations with the help of our peer educators.

l Receiving volunteers both local and international

l Provision of safety accommodation and host families for volunteers workers which can assist the volunteers to learn from the families and mothers.

l Introduce and allocate volunteers to their communities and host families/house.

l Giving out certificates of appreciation to volunteers after the period of their service.

THEMATIC AREAS:

l DONATION AND SUPPORT: providing support for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC'S). Brilliant but needy students (children and youth) and donating to orphanage/children homes to improve their standard of living and education.

l EDUCATION(CHILDREN AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT): through education and sensitization programmes,provision of educational facilities such as text books,furniture,school building, teachers(volunteers)

l HEALTH (SENSITIZATION, SERVICE DELIVERY AND ADVOCACY): outreach programmes, HIV/AIDS, training workshops, clean up exercises, formation of peer educators, community water and sanitation programmes/projects.

As a non-governmental organization in collaboration with stake holders provide health equipments and other facilities to deprived communities.

l MICRO FINANCE/AGRICULTURE (EMPOWERMENT OF RURAL PEOPLE) Youth and Women in such deprived communities are trained to acquire vocational skills to improve their their lives. In addition to this loans are disbursed to women and the youth who have acquired training to increase trade and production (agric and commerce), to eradicate poverty among the rural communities.

l VOLUNTEER SERVICES/INTERNSHIP PROGRAMMES We offer volunteers and voluntary services to such rural communities, organizations, institutions in the field of education, health, agric, community development as well as internship programmes through out the year.
