Mission Statement

Venturing Out's mission is to improve economic self-sufficiency outcomes for court-involved populations by increasing their access to entrepreneurial opportunities.

Description

Our objective is to prepare soon-to-be-released prisoners to create and sustain microenterprises. Our key program is Entrepreneurship 101, a 12-week self-employment/microenterprise course taught within correctional facilities. Through this course, Venturing Out seeks to teach those who are about to re-enter their communities the skills they need to create their own jobs. We teach our course to men and women at four Massachusetts correctional facilities.
