Mission Statement

The mission of the Aging Commission of the Mid-South is to advocate for and assist older adults and adults with disabilities in leading independent, meaningful, and dignified lives in their own homes and communities as long as possible.

Description

The SHIP program trains and certifies volunteers who provide information, counseling and assistance regarding health insurance and health benefit options, free of charge or obligation, to Medicare beneficiaries and their families. The SHIP volunteer counselors are trained, supervised and supported by SHIP/SMP staff.

They're passionate about helping Seniors find assistance that's needed. They educate on insurance benefits and update on insurance changes. All in all they care for our elders and adults with disabilities.
