Mission Statement

Caravan House is a 6-bed residential group home for troubled adolescent girls who cannot live with their families. Our purpose is to provide a safe and structured environment for the teens to live in while addressing their physical, developmental, psychological, familial, educational and psychosocial issues.

Description

Caravan House is a safe environment that provides a therapeutic home for adolescent girls, ages 12 to 18, who have been removed from their homes and placed in court custody. Most of these girls have psychological and behavioral problems stemming from abuse and neglect. A staff of highly trained therapists and counselors live and work with the girls on a daily basis. While living here, the teens receive several different kinds of therapy, they go to school, work, have free time, and do most of the activities that most teens engage in. Caravan House also teaches living skills and uses a cognitive-behavioral reward system to teach the girls responsibility, and consequences. It is our hope that while living here the teen can stablize her life, develop positive life skills and habits, identify and start correcting emotional and behavioral problems and make plans for a successful life.
