Mission Statement

City CarShare is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing car ownership and usage, while improving the environment and city life, and providing access to mobility to those who might not otherwise be able to afford it.

Description

City CarShare offers a cheaper, more convenient alternative to owning a car. Members have 24-hour access to 80 late-model cars at nearly 40 locations throughout the Bay area for $2-$4/hour and 44¢/mile. Prices include gas, insurance, parking, and maintenance. City CarShare offers a choice of compacts, station wagons, hybrids and stylish green VW beetles to its individual, household and business members. Last-minute or advance reservations can be made online or by phone for any length of time from 15 minutes to 15 days or more. Members can immediately access their vehicle at their neighborhood location without further paperwork or delay. Our members cut their drivin in half and 58% of those who owned cars when they joined, sell them. All our members report walking, biking and using transit more after they join.
