Mission Statement

The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy is an alliance of more than 60 civic, community, and environmental groups that has worked since 1989 to create a 1.3 mile-long park on the Brooklyn waterfront, from the Manhattan Bridge, under the Brooklyn Bridge and south to Atlantic Avenue. The Coalition united elected officials and community residents in support of the 85-acre Park and, in recent years, worked with the Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation to develop a master plan. Having successfully gained government support to build a community-created plan for the Park, the Conservancy is currently working to: (1) maintain and expand political, financial, and broad community support; (2) ensure that the Park is implemented consistent with the vision of the community plan; and (3) catalyze the Park's creation implementing interim park uses and programming.

Description

A small non-profit located on the Brooklyn waterfront, dedicated to the creation of Brooklyn Bridge Park, the largest park built in Brooklyn since Prospect Park.
