Description
Strategies
- After School Tutoring
Adventures Ahead provides after-school literacy development and
homework assistance to children K-6. Our goal is
for each child to achieve grade-appropriate
literacy and nd enjoyment of reading as a
lifelong venture.
- Streetlamp Studio
provides mentoringopportunities to local youth with professional
actors, musicians, artists and rappers. Youth and
their mentors work together to create and
perform original, high-quality productions that
explore facets of hope in the context of di!cult
life and inner-city realities.
- Community Building
Neighboring plays a critical role in re-weaving the frayed social
fabric of urban communities, developing
indigenous leadership capacity, physically
transforming a community and creating natural
opportunities for evangelism. Neighbors have
worked together to form Neighborhood Watch
groups, close nuisance liquor stores, gate alleys,
plant trees and host Harvest Carnivals.
- Internships and Short-Term Volunteer Trips
Our neighborhood hungers for loving investment
in children and youth. We also nd that college
students, suburban teens and others in
afluent communities hunger for ways to
participate in God's love and compassion for the
poor. RCP works hard to create challenging
learning experiences for interns and short-term
volunteers who come here to serve.
