Founded in 1950, the Muscular Dystrophy Association is one of the largest voluntary national health agencies in the world -- a dedicated partnership between scientists and concerned citizens aimed at conquering neuromuscular diseases that affect more than a million Americans.
Description
MDA provides medical clinics, equipment loans and repairs, support groups, summer camp and research for over one million Americans affected by neuromuscular diseases. MDA provides these support services for over 3600 Michigan residnets.
77.4 cents of every dollar raised is spent on services for those affected by neuromuscular disease. Monies raised at MDA events stay local to support families residing in the community in which they are raised.
