The mission of the Brooklyn Children's Museum is to actively engage children in educational and entertaining experiences through innvoation and excellence in exhibitions, programs and use of its collections. We encourage children to develop an understanding of and respect for themselves, others and the world around them through exploration of culture, arts, science and the environment.

Description

The Brooklyn Chidlren's Museum, founded in 1899, is the world's first children's museum and one of the few to welcome children unaccompanied by an adult, through its year-round after-school program. We maintain a national reputation as a leader in the field through the creation of innovative programs and exhibitions devoted to school-aged children, families and young learners.
