Mission Statement

The Mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Description

Local Scouting programs consists of units chartered to local community and religious organizations. Most activities welcome the involvement of parents and other adults as well as youth members. The program levels include:

Cub Scouting - boys ages 7 to 10. Packs include dens of Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts led by adult volunteers. Activities are home and neighborhood centered.

Boy Scouting - boys ages 11 to 17. Troops include patrols led by Scouts and guided by adult volunteers. Activities include outdoor experiences, life skills development, and peer leadership opportunities.

Venturing - girls and boys ages 14 to 20. Crews are led by teen officers and guided by adult advisors. Most crews specialize in a hobby, sport, vocation, or common special interest.

Youth and adults are welcome to join our existing units, or assist a community or religious organization in starting a new unit.
