Mission Statement

ArtTable, Inc., is a national membership organization for professional women in leadership positions in the visual arts. Founded in 1981, ArtTable has as its purpose to promote and advance greater knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the visual arts. By providing a forum for the exchange of ideas, experience and information, we seek to identify and support policies and programs which promote the visual arts, to increase the effectiveness and visibility of women in the visual arts, to promote a diverse representation of voices, to increase access to the field through mentoring and, in so doing, to help enrich the nation's cultural life. To this end, we serve a communityof 1,200 individuals, in four chapters: New York, Washington, D.C.; Northern and Southern California with interest groups in the state of Washington and Texas. A volunteer committee structure is responsible for governance and programs. The national office is located in New York.
