Mission Statement

Associação Almada Jovem (AAJ) was established in 1991 by a group of students from a Lisbon's nearby city with the primal goal of fighting against social exclusion of young people 14 to 30. It is a non-profit, non-governmental institution aiming at providing support for the youth activities, promoting solidarity, tolerance, and the development of social cohesion.

Description

Currently the group has a staff of 21 people and 800 associates directly involved in undertaking its multiple activities, including help for disadvantaged young people, international exchanges and youth mobility, environmental education and work with children and schools.
