Description

SEEKING TREASURER FOR NJ WOMEN IN COMPUTING NON-PROFIT CHAPTER

Good at managing money? Looking for a rewarding opportunity? Or you’d like to advance your career, but changing jobs is not a realistic possibility at the moment? Don’t despair. T he National Association of Women in Computing (AWC), established in 1978 to promote the interests of women in the computing professions / Information Technology, has a local NJ Chapter that may be able to help. The AWC NNJ Chapter, a professional non-profit organization, has an opportunity for you to expand your network, and develop your skills while serving as our Treasurer beginning in July 2011. Here is a great way to get leadership experience. If you work in IT, have a special interest in the field, or useful expertise valuable to women in IT, and can demonstrate that you have an ability to manage money responsibly, we could use your help. Prior experience as Treasurer is helpful but not required; commitment to the goals of our group is most important. Our website is http://www.awcnnj.org. Approximately 2 hours per month of your time would be needed. We meet every second Tuesday from Sept - Nov and Feb - June at local restaurants to network, have dinner, listen to speakers, learn, relax, and get re-energized. If this sounds like a spot for you, please contact Monica at monica522@comcast.net if interested.
