Mission Statement

Mission Architects Without Borders - Seattle is a volunteer based organization of designers, architects, structural engineers who collaborate with underrepresented communities to design ecologically sensitive, culturally appropriate, life-changing projects. Volunteers are fundamental to our work.

Founded In 2005 by a group of Seattle architects and designers in response to the Asian Tsunami, Architects without Borders Seattle is part of an international coalition of designers committed to providing pro bono design services to communities in need.

Our projects are organized in three broad and often overlapping categories:
- International Community Development
- Local Community Development
- Disaster Recovery and Response

As an organization founded through a network of volunteer designers, volunteers of all trades and passions truly fuel our work! Our volunteers are the most essential components of our organization- each person donates valuable time and skills towards our shared projects and goals. Our volunteer needs fluctuate, but we are always happy to share our work with people who are interested, regardless of their area of expertise.

I recently did an overhaul for their website, and they were just superb to work with. Clear and concise expectations, timely feedback. I am proud to have been a part of their organization and would still love to do so.
