Building caring, confident youth and future leaders.
Camp Fire USA Heartland Council is a United Way agency, tracing its beginnings in Kansas City to 1913 as the first regional Camp Fire council in the United States. As a co-ed youth development organization, Camp Fire challenges parents and youth to build character, adopt strong values, develop positive life skills and exercise responsibility to family and community. Council services include a wide variety of outdoor and group education programs: Camp Fire clubs, residential and day camps, outdoor education, self-reliance courses, training in volunteerism and community service, inner city after-school programs and physical fitness/life skills education for children with disabilities.
