Mentoring through Torchlight Youth Mentoring Alliance, has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I've been matched with a remarkable teen for two years now, and the bond we've built is something I truly cherish. She’s nearly 18, and watching her grow into the strong, thoughtful young woman she is today has been such a privilege. We’ve shared so many memorable moments together—just this past week, we went out for dinner, played games at Round 1, and ended the night with ice cream. We laughed so hard that evening—more than I’ve laughed in a long time. It’s in those simple, joyful moments that I’m reminded of the impact consistent, genuine connection can have. Torchlight creates the space for those kinds of relationships to grow. They offer the support and structure to ensure both mentors and mentees feel valued and equipped, but the magic really happens in the trust and friendship that forms over time. I’m incredibly grateful to be part of something so special.
