"The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors."
The American Red Cross provides relief to victims of disasters at home and abroad, collects and distributes nearly half of the nation's blood supply, teaches life-saving skills, and supports military members and families.
The American Red Cross, a charity and not a government agency, depends on voluntary contributions of time, money and blood to perform its humanitarian mission.

I feel very strongly about the need for blood in various medical situations. I know there is ever enough. I have donated blood myself and felt very gratified after the fact, even though the nurse forgot to give me my punch and cookies and let me walk out of the bldg. as soon as I was done and I fainted....lol. I think that experience would make me more vigilant about that particular issue. Anyway, I would love to volunteer if you will have me. Thank you, Kristy Raney
