Mission Statement
The mission of Franklin County Community Education, through the cooperative sponsorship of the Frankfort Independent Schools, Franklin County Public Schools, and Kentucky State University, is to provide and promote an environment for lifelong learning which encompasses educational, cultural, and leisure learning opportunities to enhance the quality of life for all residents (adult and child) of Frankfort.
Description
A wide variety of classes focused on boosting job skills and family life are offered at Thorn Hill Learning Center free of charge. Thorn Hill Learning Center offers classes for ages 16-21 including GED preparation, job and career guidance, and transportation. High school credits can be acquired. There is also a program for young parents including free children's education, parenting classes, and transportation. Instruction is also available for those wishing to learn to speak or write the English language. Individualized Day and evening GED instruction is available for anyone intersted.
