Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. We the staff of Loyola University Medical Center Home Care and Hospice affirm the philosophy and mission statement of Loyola University Health System. We are a professional interdisciplinary team that respect the dignity of the human spirit we provide health care, pain management, education, and emotional support to patients in the home setting; we also show concern and support for their families
Hospice Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team. They provide respite for the caregiver, and practical assistance for our hospice patients and families. Volunteers commit to 15 hours of training, and following the training and agree to 3-4 hours per week visiting patients and families, based on needs.
I have two years of volunteering experience, at numerous Chicago medical clinics, hospitals, as well as hospice centers. I am familiar with the Loyola University Health System and would reccomend it to anyone who wants to help others. Offering your time and spirit is a great way to help!- Magdalena A. Zyla
