Mission Statement
The International Executive Council provides American volunteers who have technical or management expertise to assist manufacturing and service companies in the People's Republic of China to improve their operations and to encourage free market concepts. The work of the IEC helps to develop a more significant American presence in the complex industrial and commercial redevelopment work that is occurring in China. Additionally, this work tends to provide opportunities for United States exports as well as joint ventures and other investment.
Description
The IEC matches technical or management experts from its database against specific project requests from Chinese companies, cooperatives, and municipalities. The length of stay for the expert ranges from one to four weeks. The IEC has an agreement with the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs in Beijing and the China Association for the International Exchange of Personnel, including offices in every Chinese province, that officially provides for its engagement in this activity. The volunteers' expenses outside the U.S. are covered by the requesting party and/or the Chinese government.
