Mission Statement

The Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA) creates healthy, sustainable communities by making bicycling safer, more convenient, and more accessible.

Description

The BTA encourages bicycling and healthy lifestyles through educational programs and promotional events, and by advocating at the local, regional and statewide levels for transportation policies and physical infrastructure that support bicycling.

The BTA has a variety of ways individuals can get involved. We need everything from volunteers to help us with our community rides for our education programs and bike mechanics to outreach and office volunteers to help stuff envelopes, call donors, and raise awareness about upcoming advocacy efforts. At this time we are only able to accommodate individuals and small groups of 5 or fewer people. If you have a larger group and are interested in volunteering with the BTA, please contact Nicole Davenport directly to inquire about ways your group can help.

In fact, I have just left for the US for 1 year and few months. In the first time, I totally don't know why I= need to volunteer; therefore, I have rarely gone out to volunteer. But now, as I found how my friends have volunteered for community service, I was so impressed. This led me to have enthusiasm in volunteering for community. For this reason, I actually want to give back to community and let myself join with people. So I believe that this organization will give me chance to do it. I'm looking forward to getting your accepted to volunteer. Thanks so much and best wishes, Nhu
