Mission Statement

The American Songbook Project brings singers from Broadway and cabaret into New York City schools and community organizations to introduce young people to some of the beautiful melodies and meaningful lyrics of the American songs that are part of their heritage.

Description

The American Songbook Project consists of 4 programs: The American Songbook in-school program (our standard educational performance programming), The Art of Song Performance Summer Workshop (summer instruction on American music), The American Songbook Guild (for volunteers), and our Annual Name That Tune Benefit.
