The mission of the Lutheran Social Services of Nevada is to express the love of Christ by serving and caring for people in need.
Seeking to be true to the Gospel's social mandate, LSSN is guided by its Mission Statement: Lutheran Social Services of Nevada expresses the love of Christ by serving and caring for people in need. Established in 1997 to provide social services to people in need regardless of religious affiliation, age, or national origin, LSSN is accredited by the United Way of Southern Nevada.
Since its inception, Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN) has provided assistance to over 135,000 families in need - homeless families with dependent children, refugees and immigrants, troubled youths and families in crisis, seniors and homeless individuals.
We primarily work in the community through our emergency food pantry, along with our utility assistance, supportive housing, and career services programs. We are also a lead agency in the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program, working to distribute over $2 million in stimulus funding to those in need.
