Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West, Habitat STW, builds houses in partnership with families who qualify for home ownership based on three criteria: need, willingness to partner, and an ability to repay a no-interest mortgage. Founded in 1981, Habitat STW has built over 264 affordable new homes, completed over 17 major home renovations, and impacted the lives of over 1,000 families across western St. Tammany
Parish.
We invite volunteers of any skill level to join us in the fight against poverty housing conditions. Habitat STW offers volunteer opportunities on the construction site, at our ReStore, and through special projects and committees.
Our construction sites are open year round, Tuesday through Saturday. Our Site Supervisors are always exited to introduce new volunteers to the construction site. No previous construction knowledge or experience is necessary.
At the Habitat STW ReStore, our staff and volunteers happily accept donations of new and gently used items. We sell those items to treasure hunters and bargain shoppers alike to raise money for our mission of eliminating substandard housing. The ReStore has very flexible volunteer shifts that can be adjusted to fit almost any schedule.
