There are few nation-wide systems of support for those who have experienced and continue to experience the effects of trauma. Sidran is one of them. Every hour I volunteered at Sidran, whether I spoke with one person or ten, I helped connect people with information and resources that they might not have ever found locally on their own. Volunteers play a vital role in Sidran's work; all the staff members are incredibly kind and very thorough in their training sessions, and are always available to help guide and answer questions. It's wonderful to become part of an organization that is deeply committed to connecting with people that feel isolated in their experiences, and helping them feel less alone, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to reach out to others!

Sidran is an excellent place to volunteer. I feel like at the end of the day, I've accomplished something positive because I know I was able to actively help someone with finding a solution to their problems. I also really enjoy the monthly trainings. I learn more about PTSD & DID and how I can help. I also am grateful that during training I'm able to share with the other volunteers some of my issues and solutions. Sidran is truly a big family where sharing equals more joy and less pain. I'm so proud to be a part of such a wonderful organization!

Sidran Institute is an exceptional organization full of warm, intelligent and caring people. THe work that these individuals do for the mental health community is uncomparable because they take time to connect with those seeking help while providing them with invaluable information that helps strengthen their healing journey. I would urge everyone to become part of the volunteer experience, I have learned a tremendous amount and thank them every day for it!

The Sidran Institute is an amazing place to volunteer. I took my senior year internship there and it was one of the most valuable experiences I've had. Not only is everyone there friendly and good to work with, but working at Sidran provides incredible educational opportunities. Working at the Help Desk in general is educational and rewarding, and on top of that Sidran has a large library of literature and other media that can be read/watched and training sessions that are interesting and informative. I would recommend this to anyone looking to volunteer and help out their community.
