A Child's Place works to erase the impact of homelessness on children and their education.

Description

Volunteers will work with homeless children and families in the Charlotte community.

Volunteer OpportunitiesClassroom Assistant : Assist teachers in facilitating classroom activities. Responsibilities may include individual tutoring, leading small group learning activities, art projects, etc. This opportunity requires a two hour commitment once a week. Lunch Buddy: Provides a mentoring friendship for an identified ACP student. Responsibilities may include having lunch with a child, playing games, reading, talking, etc. This opportunity requires a one hour commitment once a week. Tutor : Assist student with homework or school assignments. Responsibilities may include meeting with the teacher and A Child's Place staff on behalf of the child. This opportunity requires a one hour commitment once a week. Snack Providers : Group Project - Snack providers may be individuals or groups who bring hearty, healthy snacks for the students on a regular basis. Volunteered as a lunch buddy and enjoyed it! Due to conflicting work schedule and taking care of a sick relative I have not been able to volunteer. Would love to go back to it.
