To profoundly enhance the end of life for individuals facing a life limiting illness by the provision of compassionate, professional hospice care; the instruction of the family and significant others in the skills necessary to care for their loved one; the support of patient decisions for care; the offering of alternative care settings to meet patient/family needs and the assistance of the family and loved ones in identifying and implementing effective ways to manage their grief.

Description

Hospice of Baltimore is regarded as one of the finest hospice programs in the country, offering both home based and inpatient care. Some volunteers work with patients or their families. Some prefer assisting with clerical or fundraising duties. Most importantly, our volunteers are committed to offering companionship, friendship and emotional support. We make every effort to tailor assignments to the interests and schedules of the volunteer.
