Vision: The heart of the Norfolk Medical Reserve Corps is our vision to be actively involved in creating and maintaining a healthy community through volunteer energy, initiative, expertise and leadership.
Description
The purpose of the NMRC is to strengthen communities by establishing a system for medical and health volunteers to offer their expertise throughout the year, as well as during times of community need. In an emergency, volunteers with a wide variety of skills are needed to assist with the public health response.
The objectives of the NMRC are to:
- Establish the necessary organizational, operational and administrative procedures for effective operation;
- Identify and outline professional specialties, qualifications and training needs for membership;
- Increase the capacity of the community to respond during emergencies by activating the MRC.
