Mission Statement

The mission of the Lower Alsace Ambulance Association is to provide quality prehospital emergency medical care and services to the residents and visitors of out area. We will accomplish our mission through the provision of emergency medical services, education of the community, and the performance of other emergency and non-emergency related activities. We will provide a forum in which volunteers can perform a needed community service, to enhance both their well being and the well being of their community. We will strive to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness in all that we undertake."

Description

Lower Alsace Ambulance is a non-profit volunteer ambulance service that has been providing, quality, basic life support ambulance service to the community for 15 years. As an integral part of the Emergency Medical Services System of Berks County, Lower Alsace Ambulance has provided emergency and non-emergency services to thousands of residents and visitors to the area. With the cooperation of other local EMS services, as well as with that of our police and fire departments, Lower Alsace Ambulance continues to care for the community in it's time of need. Lower Alsace Ambulance is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health to provide Basic Life Support ambulance service. Both the ambulance vehicles and the service itself met rigourous standards in order to qualify for licensure. All of the Lower Alsace Ambulance crew members are trained to the minimum of Emergency Medical Technician - Basic, with several members holding advanced EMS and Rescue certifications. Lower Alsace Ambulance vehicles are equipped with the latest in state-of -the-art medical equipment, including Lifepak 500 Automated External Defibrillators, or AED's, which allow for rapid assessment and treatment of vicitims of sudden cardiac arrest. Staffed by volunteers from the community and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Lower Alsace Ambulance truly is "Your Community EMS Service".
